The LLM program and other graduate law programs at Penn Law, over a century old, are recognized as among the best in the United States and attract top students from around the world. This August, we welcomed just over 100 LLM students from 44 different countries including the U.S.

Our graduate law programs are renowned for several features:

A cross-disciplinary approach to legal education. It is clear that global leaders in the law must be well-trained in the disciplines related to law. At Penn, this training is infused into the curriculum and is augmented by the ability of students to take courses at any of the graduate and professional schools at the University of Pennsylvania, one of the Ivy League schools.
Faculty members who are not only world-renowned experts in their field but who are also engaged and engaging teachers.
A culture of collegiality, where students are made to feel welcome and supported, and in which students can safely take risks that deepen and broaden their study.

At Penn Law, graduate students take law courses with upper level J.D. students. We find that both our graduate students and J.D. students benefit greatly from the experience of sharing different perspectives in and outside the classroom.
