DIRECT SERVICE PROJECTS:

Escorting: on Saturday mornings a group of dedicated RRLP members escort women to and from health clinics in Philadelphia to shield them from protestors and to watch out for Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act violations.  Below please find the escorting training handbook that we wrote, the FACE Act, and an observation evaluation for use while escorting.

Judical Bypass Interview Program:  the majority of the week there is a RRLP member at Philadelphia Women's Center and Planned Parenthood to counsel women under the age of 18 about their right not to involve their parent(s) in their abortion decision and instead petition the court for a judicial bypass.  We are available to answer questions for the young women, help them with their paperwork, and set them up with a public defender and a court date. 

RESEARCH PROJECTS:

EC in the ER: for this project we researched the 11 hospitals in the state of PA who have registered religious objections to Emergency Contraception under the state's Conscientious Objection Act.  We collected all of the pharmacies that provide EC in the surrounding area, as well as the Women's Centers, for women who have been turned away from these hospitals to use as a resource to receive the medical care they need.

We have also been involved in many other confidential research projects for pending and current cases in the state of PA.
