Spring Break Trip

 

Jordan Trip.JPGEvery year, IHRA and sister organizations coordinate a spring break public interest trip to a foreign destination. The trip provides students with a chance to use their legal skills in an international, pro bono setting.
 
In the Spring of 2011, IHRA students traveled to Amman, Jordan with students from the Penn Law Chapter of the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project and the Penn Law Immigrants’ Rights Project. In Amman, this student delegation worked with a Human Rights Clinic at the University of Jordan in helping Iraqi refugees apply for resettlement in the U.S. (Read More)
 
In the 2008 academic year, IHRA conducted a comprehensive study of issues at the US-Mexico border and met with immigration officials, legal officials and judicial activists.
 
In 2007, students traveled to El Salvador to participate in public education and community development projects. The trip included a seminar on public education and historical training prior to departure as well as basic Spanish language instruction, an in-country study tour, and a chance to discuss legal rights with local activists.
