Information for Students

ALP provides a pro bono opportunity that allows students to integrate their knowledge from diverse areas of the law. ALP’s co-chairs aim to select and develop projects of interest to students of different viewpoints on animal legal and ethical issues and to avoid committing to any specific ideological position outside of the general mission of animal advocacy. In addition to developing diverse legal projects, ALP also provides participating students with training, supplemental materials, speaking opportunities as well as opportunities to network with students from other law schools as well as organizations within and outside of the University.

ALP welcomes all class levels and students of various backgrounds and reasons for interest in the subject. If you are a Penn Law student and would like to get involved, please emailanimallawproject@law.upenn.edu. Signing up for ALP does not commit you to any minimum number of hours or projects, nor does it preclude you from signing up with other pro bono placements or clinical projects. Once you have signed up, we will work with you to find a project that is a good fit and you will have flexibility to complete the project at hours you select, provided that you meet the deadlines set by the co-chairs.

We look forward to working with you.
