Our nationally renowned Toll Public Interest Center continues to lead the way in the field of pro bono. We recognize how this service both enriches the law school experience for our students while simultaneously providing a meaningful contribution to the public interest legal community on a full spectrum of issues, among them:

Pro Bono Requirement
All Penn Law students are required to perform 70 hours of law-related pro bono work as a condition of graduation.
Student-Initiated Projects
The Center assists student groups and faculty in launching new pro bono projects.
Funding
The Center coordinates summer funding for public interest internships.
Public Service Programming
The Center hosts a wide variety of programs on cutting edge topics in public interest and public sector law.
Toll Public Scholars Program
The Toll Public Interest Center administers the Toll Public Interest Scholars Program and works with the Scholars to organize the Edward V. Sparer Symposium.
Edward V. Sparer Symposium
Each year the Toll Public Interest Center and interested faculty plan the Edward V. Sparer Symposium, one of the most prominent public interest conferences in the country.
Faculty
Many Penn Law faculty are committed to public interest issues and work closely with students in the Toll Public Interest Center.
Advisory Board
The Center serves as a nexus between the Philadelphia legal community and the national public interest legal community.
