Instructions for Authors:
The Journal of Business Law welcomes articles and essays that address all aspects of business law and policy. The Journal will consider articles that have appeared previously in other publications that are not readily accessible to our readers. Authors must inform the Journal of the publication status when making a submission.
Preference will be given to articles of 25,000 words or less (including footnotes). We highly encourage manuscripts to be submitted via e-mail as attachments in DOC format. Unpublished manuscripts may be sent simultaneously to other journals on the conditions that the editorial board of the Journal be so advised at the time of initial submission and that the author informs the board immediately if the work is to be published elsewhere.
If accepted for publication in the Journal, an electronic copy of the text in DOC format should be submitted. One or more camera-ready copies of graphical material must also be supplied. Footnotes should conform to The Bluebook: A Uniform System of Citation (18th ed. 2005). Editors will work with authors from non-legal disciplines to adapt the citation format. All articles to be published will undergo editing with regard to style and substance.
All submissions should be sent to the Journal of Business Law, University of Pennsylvania Law School, 3400 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-6204. Submission related inquiries should be addressed to the Editor-in-Chief, Bryan C. Anderson, who may be reached via e-mail at
