International CareersAt Penn Law, students prepare for careers in all aspects of international and comparative law. Our JDs and LLMs enjoy international opportunities in Asia, Australia, Europe, Africa and Latin America, as well is in the United States. Each year, graduates of the Law School join law firms and legal organizations around the world expanding this robust community of international attorneys. The Law School’s International Programs Office advises students who wish to work abroad either during or after law school and administers the International Summer Human Rights Fellowship (ISHRF) and the Penn Law International Internship Programs (PLIIP), two outstanding avenues for students seeking valuable career insight and experience during law school. Penn’s Office of Career Planning and Professionalism (CP&P) provides substantial and sustained support in the form of programming, resources and individual counseling to students and alumni interested in international opportunities. This includes a dedicated Career Counselor who specializes in international opportunities and meets regularly with students, beginning in their 1L year, to help each student develop his or her individual international interests and create a job search strategy. CP&P supports students pursuing international careers with U.S. and foreign firms as well as with government, multilateral organizations and non-governmental organizations. |
