East Asia Law Review Call for Papers

We would like to introduce the East Asia Law Review (EALR), formerly the Chinese Law and Policy Review, an independent journal at the University of Pennsylvania Law School. We are proud to announce that we are now accepting submissions for our issue scheduled for publication in 2008.

The mission of the East Asia Law Review is to provide a forum for the study of the law of East Asian nations, thus, submissions should be related to the law, its practice, implementation or implications in East Asian nations. Submissions are accepted from anyone with an interest in East Asia, including but not limited to legal academics, legal professionals and students. There are no length requirements and submissions may be of any type, including articles, essays, regulations reviews, and book reviews. Submissions must be in English and must be properly cited; bluebook format for footnotes is appreciated. EALR will select the highest quality manuscripts for publication. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically in Microsoft Word format to our articles editor, Binni Shah at shahb[at]law.upenn.edu.

Once EALR and the author have agreed to publish a piece, our editors will check it for accuracy and proper citation format to conform to the 18th edition of the Bluebook. The finished product will then be published online. We take all steps possible to offer the broadest possible dissemination of your work, and all future issues of EALR will be published on Westlaw. In submitting your work, you are acknowledging that if it is selected, it will be published on Westlaw, and are consenting to such publication.

Please note that EALR functions independently of the Law School. Its editors are selected from the Law School's J.D., LL.M., and S.J.D. candidates and Professor Jacques deLisle of the Law School serves as advisor to the editorial board.

To view previous articles, please visit the the article section of our website or send an email to clsa[at]law.upenn.edu.

Submissions will be accepted until February 1, 2008. Limited extensions may be possible with prior approval of the editorial board. We look forward to reading your submissions, and please don’t hesitate to contact us for with any questions or for more information.
