Student Perspectives on Cross-Disciplinary Study
These responses were excerpted from an anonymous Penn Law student survey conducted in winter 2006:
How would you describe Penn Law to a stranger who is interested in law school?
- Penn is a great place to study law - it is a great community and the program is so inter-disciplinary - you can take advantage of Penn's resources in all of its other graduate programs while working on your law degree!
- Collegial. Friendly. Students and faculty willing to help each other, but add Penn's emphasis of interdisciplinary study.
- One of the top law schools in the US. Great environment, highly regarded by law firms, opportunities for cross-disciplinary education.
- Excellent law school with many opportunities for interdisciplinary study. Collegial as law school can be.
- It's a really good school for students interested in cross-disciplinary studies, whether or not you're interested in a certificate or joint degree program.
List the top three strengths of Penn Law
- Cross-disciplinary study opportunities are terrific. The joint-degree programs are awesome, and so are the certificate programs. It's great to be able to take 12 credits outside of the law school, esp. at a place like Wharton.
- Interdisciplinary education of many of the professors, I enjoy their unique perspectives in class.
