Public Interest Programs and Resources

CP&P co-sponsors public interest programs with Penn Law's Toll Public Interest Center. These include a Public Interest Awareness series to introduce students to various types of public interest practices. Practice areas change with student interest and can include community economic development, criminal defense and death penalty litigation, public international law and private public interest practice, among others. CP&P also offers workshops on debt management, fellowship opportunities and public interest job search strategies.

Additionally, CP&P maintains a library of public interest resources including organizational directories, job search guides, nonprofit directories and guides and general career development guides, as well as files on hundreds of public interest and government employers. Job binders are also located in the library and contain all the job listings that employers send CP&P. Specific binders include job listings from public interest and government employers, as well as postgraduate and summer fellowship opportunities. The public interest counselor also has a set of these binders in his office. Additionally, all graduate and alumni jobs are listed on the CP&P web page.

In addition to CP&P's own extensive database of legal employers, Penn Law is a member of PSLawnet, a national database with thousands of public interest and government employers, job listings and fellowship opportunities. Students can gain access to PSLawnet through CP&P or the Toll Public Interest Center.
