RECRUITING INTERNATIONAL ATTORNEYS

The University of Pennsylvania's Master of Laws Programs (LL.M. and LL.C.M. degrees) are comprised of approximately 80 international law graduates from around the world with experience in international trade and finance as well as corporate law, civil procedure, and criminal law of their home countries. At Penn, our LL.M. students study alongside (and are graded on the same scale as) our J.D. candidates in upper level, primarily corporate, courses.

These candidates offer employers international experience and expertise coupled with a solid grounding in American law and legal institutions.

There are many advantages to employing an LL.M. student. With the expanding globalization of markets, LL.M. candidates bring with them a wealth of knowledge about their cultures and are familiar with the methods of conducting legal and non-legal transactions in their home countries.

Additionally, LL.M.s may potentially provide invaluable connections to foreign clients.

Many members of the LL.M. class obtain internships or permanent employment with prestigious law firms in the United States after graduation. We encourage your organization to consider hiring Penn Law LL.M.s.

Consider interviewing LL.M. candidates during our Fall and Spring On-Campus Recruiting . Additionally, we are happy to collect resumes through our Requesting Resumes Service.

LL.M. Mock Interview Program

During the fall semester we offer LL.M. students the opportunity to better prepare themselves for legal interviews in the U.S. These interviews are scheduled at your office, at your convenience, and allow you to assist a student and make a productive professional contact with an international attorney.

Host a Reception

If you are interested in finding out more about the LL.M. students and having them find out more about your organization, consider hosting a reception. Held either here at the Law School or at your place of business, the LL.M. students would appreciate the opportunity to meet and mingle with attorneys from your organization.

For more information about our LL.M. candidates, please contact Matthew Parker in our Office of Graduate Programs.
