Bio

Peter Grossi is a senior litigator and former chair of the Litigation Group at Arnold & Porter LLP.  Since 1997, he has served as National Counsel for Wyeth in its Diet Drug cases.  He obtained the first defense verdict in a Diet Drug jury trial, and thereafter tried 12 more cases to successful conclusions.  He was also the senior supervising attorney working with other teams in the other 40 cases tried to verdicts.

Prior to his work on the Diet Drug cases, he defended a number of other pharmaceutical companies, as well as those in other industries, in product cases.  In 2009, Chambers USA named Mr. Grossi as the "Senior Statesman" of the national product liability bar.

Mr. Grossi is a lecturer at the University of Virginia Law School and has taught trial practice and product liability to national meetings of the Defense Research Institute, the AEI-Brookings Judicial Education Program and the ABA Section on Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution.

Prior to joining Arnold & Porter, he clerked for Judge J. Joseph Smith on the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
