Praveen Kosuri came to the Law School with a unique background in law, business, and public interest. As a former investment banker with an M.B.A. he is versed in all forms of capital raising as well as transacting mergers, acquisitions and divestitures for Fortune 500 companies as well as privately held businesses. In addition, his subsequent experience representing businesses as a corporate lawyer and commercial litigator allowed him to apply an integrated, interdisciplinary approach to solving his clients’ problems. That same integrated approach can be seen in his direction of the Law School’s transactional clinic. Kosuri has marshaled the resources of the Clinic to positively impact distressed communities by creating a mix of clients which range from the small business owner starting a business in the inner-city to nonprofit organizations engaged in redevelopment projects to ventures creating technologies that can benefit society at large. Kosuri began his clinical teaching career at the University of Chicago Law School where he was Assistant Director of the Institute for Justice Entrepreneurship Clinic. He was also an Adjunct Professor at Northwestern University School of Law. Kosuri began his career as a Cook County Public Defender.
