Melanie McMenamin is a 2003 Law School alumna who has returned to Penn to teach in the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic where she was once a student. Her current scholarly interests include social entrepreneurship, “benefit” corporations and entrepreneurial lawyering. She enjoys supervising and mentoring students as they provide counsel to for-profit and nonprofit entrepreneurs in start-up and transactional matters. McMenamin has over seven years of experience negotiating and executing complex corporate and real estate finance transactions in large law firms in New York and Philadelphia. She also shares with her students her experiences representing nonprofits pro-bono during her time in private practice and advocating for a legal regime that supports the creation and preservation of wealth in low-income communities.
