Anne Kringel is the director of the Law School’s Legal Writing program and appellate advocacy courses.

Anne Kringel is the director of the Law School’s Legal Writing program and appellate advocacy courses. She is a nationally recognized expert in the field of legal analysis, research, and writing. She received her J.D. from Yale Law School and her B.A. in history from Yale College. She was a litigation associate at Faegre & Benson in Minneapolis and a member of the clinical faculty at Widener University School of Law before joining the Penn Law faculty in 1994. Kringel teaches American Trials and Law and Literature. She is a member of the Association of Legal Writing Directors and the Legal Writing Institute, and is the vice-chair of the academic board of the Burton Awards for Legal Achievement.
