The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency

The PCCD is among the largest and most influential crime commissions in the United States. The PCCD administers or funds dozens of programs annually with a budget in the millions. Considered a leader in policymaking in such areas as victim compensation and non-traditional methods of combating crime, the PCCD continues to fund research and analysis of new policy initiatives. In this regard, the PCCD has contracted with the CLRG to study and analyze a number of policy issues currently facing Pennsylvania. Present projects include work on intermediate sanctions and specialty courts.

  • Intermediate Sanctions Project: This project is examining the situation created by alternative, intermediate sentences for non-violent offenders and the extent to which such sentencing programs reduce crime.
  • Specialty Courts Project: This project is reviewing the success experienced by specialty courts, particularly with respect to reducing recidivism.

Authorized users can access the PCCD project page here.
