Vonage faces a crisis

Vonage and Verizon have been battling a patent dispute for quite some time now. A jury previously awarded Verizon $58 million for Vonage's infringement. Yesterday, the District Court in the case issued an injunction that prevents Vonage from signing up any new customers while they appeal the case. It will be interesting to see what Vonage does if it loses its appeal. If it is unable to find a way to work around Verizon's patents or reach an agreement, this relatively new company may not last much longer.
