LAW FIRMS AND FOR-PROFIT COMPANIES

ACADEMIC AND NON-PROFIT LIBRARIES

Effective January 2, 2007, Biddle will charge academic and non-profit libraries for loans and copies. Biddle lends through SHARES (PAUL) and OCLC (PLL) and will only lend to libraries using OCLC's IFM payment system. For more information, including pricing, click here.

PENN LAW STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF

Biddle's Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery services provide University of Pennsylvania Law school faculty, students and staff with books and articles not available in Biddle, on campus, or at Drexel University. To ensure efficient and fast service, Biddle uses FirstSearch and Infotrieve as our primary ILL and document delivery services. Both enable the patron to take an active role in the process.

FirstSearch is a database of over 36 million records for materials held in libraries around the country. Both books and copies of articles are available from FirstSearch. Allow 10 - 14 days for the receipt of materials from FirstSearch.

Infotrieve is a commercial provider of copies of articles. Articles from Infotrieve can be faxed or sent via desktop delivery.

Through Biddle's Interlibrary Loan/Document Delivery homepage you can search LOLA, Franklin and Drexel University's online catalog before searching Infotrieve or FirstSearch. Biddle will only process requests for materials not available in Biddle, on campus, or at Drexel. If you need a book, you will search the FirstSearch database. For articles, you must first go through Infotrieve. If the article is not available through Infotrieve, you will need to search FirstSearch.

If the title you need is not available at Biddle, on campus or at Drexel, AND you cannot locate the title of the journal in Infotrieve or FirstSearch, or the book in FirstSearch, contact Merle Slyhoff. Please remember, however, that we are not always able to fulfill all requests. We will notify you when we are unable to fill your ILL request.
