A clean copy of Article 6, which incorporates the changes we agreed upon at our meeting last fall, as well as the style changes necessary to conform with the rest of META, is attached. This is the draft we will be working from at the meeting. A marked up copy of Article 6 showing all the changes is also attached for use by those who want to have it for reference purposes. A copy of META as it was approved by NCCUSL last summer is also attached.

 

The meeting will begin promptly at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday. After reviewing the new definitions and section 601 and the revised comments to section 601, we will turn our attention to 606 and 607, which contain the provisions dealing with the allocation of assets and liabilities.  These provisions have in the past generated most of the discussion about this article, and the new draft presents two alternatives for our consideration. Following the conclusion of the discussion of sections 606 and 607, we will review section 602-605. This review should not take much time since most of the language tracks parallel sections in Articles 2-5 of META.

 

Our goal is to finish the substantive discussion on Saturday, but if that is not the case, we will meet on Sunday starting at 8:00 A.M.
