Re:	Consideration at Annual Meeting

 

 

 

Floor consideration of the revised UAGA is currently scheduled for Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, July 27 – 28, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Typically the schedule slides back a little but occasionally it can slide ahead.

 

Only the Committee members and ABA Advisors have floor privileges.  All are invited, but Observers have only the opportunity to listen in on the discussion.  Typically, the floor on the first reading only questions and makes suggestions, and rarely are any changes directed for the draft.  Thus, Observers may find it not worth the trip expense to be present - - but you are very welcome.

 

Attached are:

 

1.                  The Draft that will be discussed at the Annual Meeting; and

2.                  A Report to the Committee of the Whole by the Chair and Reporter.

 

Both will be sent out to all Commissioners.

 

            On Tuesday (probably in the afternoon), July 26, we will have a short Committee meeting to discuss the presentation of the Act on the floor and consider any suggestions for Committee floor amendments.  The time and place will be posted on the Bulletin Board at the hotel.

 

            The Reporter has prepared the current draft based on the discussion at our March meeting and suggestions of the Style Committee.  If you have any serious concerns, please e-mail them to Sheldon Kurtz (Sheldon-Kurtz@uiowa.edu) and me (ccring@ober.com).  We will evaluate whether they should be considered for Committee floor amendments or taken up at our next Drafting Committee meeting on November 2-4.
