
Access and HoursDuring the Law School's reading/examination periods, access to Biddle is restricted to University of Pennsylvania Law students, University faculty, and members of the bar. When special events are scheduled to take place in the library, access may be limited. During the regular academic year, the following policy is in effect:Penn law students, Penn students, faculty and staff must show a valid PENNCard to the guard at the entrance of the Law School. They are not required to sign in. Persons in these three categories may enter the Library after displaying identification to the guard and signing in:
Non-Penn students needing to use materials in Biddle must have an email sent from a librarian at their home institution stating the student's research need. All others should email their requests for access, detailing the nature of the research project, to libraryaccess@law.upenn.edu. It will take 24 to 48 hours for access to be approved. Visitors must show appropriate ID to the guard at the entrance to the Law School. All visitors must sign in. Those whose names are not on the guard's list will not be admitted.
