Biddle Law Library

By combining innovation and tradition in both our collection and our services, the Biddle Law Library supports the research, education, and scholarship of the Penn Law faculty and students. In addition, the library also supports the needs of the rest of the university, the wider scholarly community and the general public.

Our highly trained professional librarians and staff work closely with both faculty and students in identifying, accessing, and providing the legal and interdisciplinary materials used today by Penn Law faculty and students. As one of the pre-eminent law libraries in the world, Biddle Law Library has a collection that is rich in modern and historical Anglo-American law, foreign and international law, and rare books. Through Biddle’s on-line catalog, LOLA, faculty and students may search for titles in the Library’s collection as well as those of other major academic law libraries. At the same time, the on-line catalog and the Library’s website provide access to electronic databases and resources, journal indexes, full texts of journal articles and a wealth of other information.

Located in Nicole E. Tanenbaum Hall overlooking the Penn Law courtyard, the Biddle Law Library is a modern complex with expansive areas encompassing rooms for student study groups, computer labs and wireless network connections for research, and places for quiet study. We welcome you to the Biddle Law Library and Penn Law and invite you to explore our services and collections.
