CAMPAIGN LEADERSHIP

University of Pennsylvania Law School Board of Overseers

Penn Law Board of Overseers is the advisory body to the Dean of the Law School. ;They also serve as a vital channel of communication with the University Trustees on the activities of the Law School. These individuals are professionals, experts, and informed lay people who provide volunteer leadership and financial support to the areas they serve. As ambassadors and spokespersons for Penn Law, they link the Law School to the University and the world.

Campaign Steering Committee (2004 - 2007)

Reporting to the Board of Overseers, the Campaign Steering Committee (CSC) provided the voluntary leadership and direction for the nucleus fund phase of the Law School’s initial $100 million campaign. They were responsible for achieving the fund-raising milestones, including meeting the Overseer’s nucleus fund goal of $100 million. At the April 2006 meeting of the Overseers, the CSC recommended that the fund goal be increased to $175 million.  In addition, they recommended the viability of a public announcement of the Campaign in October 2006. Both recommendations were approved by the Board of Overseers.

The Campaign Steering Committee is comprised of twelve to fifteen prominent alumni, parents and friends who will provide leadership and assist in securing the external support necessary to achieve the Campaign goals. The members of the Steering Committee are appointed by the Dean of the Law School in consultation with the Chairman of the Board of Overseers.

Campaign Executive Committee (2007 - 2010)

Reporting to the Board of Overseers, the Campaign Executive Committee (CEC) provides the voluntary leadership for the public phase (2007 - 2010) of the Campaign to achieve a goal of raising $175 million for the University of Pennsylvania Law School by June 30, 2010.

The Campaign Executive Committee is comprised of twenty to twenty-five prominent alumni, parents and friends who will provide leadership and assist in securing the external support necessary to achieve the Campaign goals.  The members of the Executive Committee are appointed by the Dean of the Law School in consultation with the Chairman of the Board of Overseers.
