University of Pennsylvania Law SchoolJoin Professor Claire Finkelstein as she discusses the philosophical, moral, and legal challenges inherent in using targeted killings to fight the war on terror, as set out in her forthcoming work Targeted Killings: Law and Morality in an Asymmetrical World (Oxford University Press, forthcoming, 2012).

Lawrence J. Fox L’68 is a Partner and former Managing Partner at Drinker, Biddle & Reath LLP in Philadelphia and a visiting Lecturer of Law and the Crawford Lecturer at Yale Law School. From 2000-2008 he was the I. Grant Irey, Jr. Adjunct Professor at Penn Law and then from 2007-2010 he was a Lecturer on Law at Harvard Law School.

Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crisis
James Rickards L'77 and David Skeel, S. Samuel Arsht Professor of Corporate Law, University of Pennsylvania Law School
James Rickards, L'77, will discuss his national bestseller, Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crisis. His book transports the reader into the Pentagon's first-ever "financial war game" and reviews the history of the international monetary system from 1870-2010, while taking a close look at past and present currency wars, the implications for the future of the dollar and gold, and the potential for financial chaos in the years ahead. Professor David Skeel will also be on hand to provide his perspective and assist in analyzing some of the relevant issues touched on by Currency Wars.

Making Obama's Foreign Policy: Views from Inside the National Security Council and the Clinton State Department
Bill Burke-White, Penn Law Deputy Dean and Professor of Law, will discuss his two years with the U.S. Department of State as a member of the Secretary's Policy Planning Staff (2009-2011). He'll be joined by Barry Pavel, Director of the International Security Program at The Atlantic Council, who served as Special Assistant to the President (2008-2010) and was Senior Director for Defense Policy and Strategy on the National Security Council.

32nd Annual "Quaker Trot" Alumni Run/Walk
Come out and represent the Law School at this year's University-wide (open to graduates of all Penn undergraduate and graduate schools) alumni fun run, an untimed 1.5 mile loop around the newly-renovated Penn Park. Join your classmates in representing the Law School and show your Penn Law pride -- Penn Law t-shirt and cap will be provided to all interested runners and walkers. Registered alumni will receive an email with details on where to pick up their Penn Law gear. Alumni will run or walk around Penn Park, near Robert P. Levy Tennis Pavilion, 240 S. 31st Street. Advance registration is requested. All participants are welcome to use the David Pottruck Health and Fitness Center to shower afterwards. Join us for an hour-tour of the Rosenbach Museum & Library, founded in 1954 through a gift by brothers Dr. A.S.W. Rosenbach and Philip Rosenbach.
