Abe Reich and Michael Temin L’57 will lead us through a discussion of some of the ethical concerns for lawyers surrounding social media and electronic communications in today’s social media-saturated world. Abe Reich is a Lecturer in Law at Penn Law and is a Partner and the Co-Chairman of Fox Rothschild LLP. Michael Temin is an Adjunct Professor at Penn Law and Senior Counsel at Fox Rothschild LLP.

James Rickards L'77 and David Skeel, S. Samuel Arsht Professor of Corporate Law, University of Pennsylvania Law School
James Rickards, L'77, will discuss his national bestseller, Currency Wars: The Making of the Next Global Crisis. His book transports the reader into the Pentagon's first-ever "financial war game" and reviews the history of the international monetary system from 1870-2010, while taking a close look at past and present currency wars, the implications for the future of the dollar and gold, and the potential for financial chaos in the years ahead. Professor David Skeel will also be on hand to provide his perspective and assist in analyzing some of the relevant issues touched on by Currency Wars.

William Burke-White, Deputy Dean and Professor of Law, University of Pennsylvania Law School and Barry Pavel, Director of the International Security Program & Director-Designate of the Brent Scowcroft Center on International Security, the Atlantic Council
Bill Burke-White, Penn Law Deputy Dean and Professor of Law, will discuss his two years with the U.S. Department of State as a member of the Secretary's Policy Planning Staff (2009-2011). He'll be joined by Barry Pavel, Director of the International Security Program at The Atlantic Council, who served as Special Assistant to the President (2008-2010) and was Senior Director for Defense Policy and Strategy on the National Security Council.

Local and Global Art Conflicts: From The Coordination of the Barnes Foundation Move to the Recovery of Nazi-Looted Art

This panel will delve into the complex legal issues involved in the acquisition and ownership of art. We'll begin with a discussion of the financing and contract issues involved in major art acquisitions and joint ownership of major works, followed by some of the more headline-grabbing litigation stemming from trust and estate issues and attempts to return stolen art. Our experts will talk about their experiences working on such well-known disputes as the Barnes Foundation move, the recovery of Nazi-looted art, and more.
