Brings Changing World to Students' Doorstep

Leon "Lee" Holt, Jr., L'51 joined Air Products and Chemicals,
Inc., shortly after the start of the Cold War when the
world was rapidly changing. Stateside, the company was involved
in supplying the Defense Department and NASA with
liquid hydrogen missile fuels.
Hired as an "engineer lawyer," Holt
worked from a steel desk in an industrial
atmosphere — the company heads
felt that its principal Air Force customers
would feel more at home in such a setting.
His previous employers, an oil company
and a prestigious New York City
law firm, had more sophisticated tastes.
