Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander

Graduated from Penn Law in 1927.

Besides being Penn Law's first African American woman graduate, Sadie Alexander was the first African American woman in the country to earn a Ph.D. in any subject. In Philadelphia she was known for her work in civil rights.
